Bulkley Valley court docket: March 23-29, 2023

Sentences for offences committed in Smithers, Houston, Burns Lake, Vanderhoof and areas.

- Jonathan Denis Monk (born 1995) was sentenced to 18 months probation for two counts of assault, committed in Tachie and Fort St. James, and to time served for breaching a release order, committed in Tachie. Monk was in custody for 34 days prior to sentencing.

- George Henry Basil (born 1957) was sentenced to 60 days in jail and 18 months probation for assault by choking and to time served for breaching a release order, both committed in Vanderhoof. Basil was in custody for 10 days prior to sentencing.

- Belinda Carmilla Charlie (born 1988) was sentenced to one year probation and fined $1,000 in total for mischief $5,000 or under and two counts of breaching an undertaking, committed in Takla Landing.

- Isaac Edward MacIntyre (born 2001) was issued a one-year $500 peace bond for causing fear sexual offence in respect of person under 16, committed in Vanderhoof.

- John Robert Griffin (born 1971) was sentenced was sentenced to two years probation and issued a 10-year firearms prohibition for assault causing bodily harm and to zero days for four counts of breaching an undertaking, all committed in Houston. Griffin was in custody for four days following his arrest on one of the breach charges.

- Jennifer Marie Holland (born 1978) was sentenced to 18 months probation for personation to avoid arrest, assault and breaching probation, all committed in Smithers.

- Thomas Walter Kennedy (born 1999) was sentenced to 13 months in jail and two years probation and issued a 10 year firearms prohibition for break and enter with intent to commit an offence, prohibited from driving for three years for dangerous driving and sentenced to one month probation on the count and for fleeing police and two counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, all committed in Houston. Kennedy spent a total of 44 days in custody on the counts prior to sentencing.
