Advance voting begins on Thursday

Advance voting in the provincial election begins on Thursday and runs until Oct. 21.

Elections BC vote information cards to registered voters last week, and all registered voters are entitled to vote at an advance voting place if they want.

"Providing safe in-person voting opportunities has been a key focus for Elections BC," a statement issued by Elections BC said. "Since the beginning of the pandemic, Elections BC has worked with the provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, and WorkSafeBC to develop safe voting plans."

COVID-19 safety measures in place will include physical distancing, capacity limits at voting places, protective barriers, frequent cleaning of voter booths and high-touch areas, and election officials will be provided with personal protective equipment.

In the Prince George-Mackenzie riding, advance voting will be available at:

• Trinity United Church (3555 Fifth Ave.), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

• Prince George Family Worship Centre (3400 Hart Highway), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Saturday, Oct. 17.

• Christ Our Saviour Church Hall (4514 Austin Road West), from Monday, Oct. 19 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

• Mackenzie Secondary School (500 Skeena Dr., Mackenzie), on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18.

In the Prince George-Valemount riding, advance voting will be available at:

• Columbus Community Centre (7201 Domano Blvd.), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

• Our Saviour's Lutheran Church (3590 Dufferin Ave.), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

• Prince George Conference and Civic Centre (808 Canada Games Way), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

• Elks Hall (172 Holdway St., McBride), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

• Golden Years Lodge (1300 Main St., Valemount), from Thursday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Advance voting places will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on all days they are open.
