As well, 100 Mile House was put on an evacuation alert shortly before noon to give the residents the heads up that they should be ready to leave their homes.

"Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an evacuation; however,
you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions," says the alert as posted on the community's website and signed by 100 Mile House mayor Mitch Campsall.

The CRD's two orders are for more than 1,000 properties from Flat Lake to Green Lake North, south of 100 Mile House, and for 482 parcels from Canim Lake South to Mahood Lake, north of 100 Mile House.

Three wildfires of note are burning in the area.
