The BC Wildfire Service says it continues to monitor an out of control wildfire at Williston Lake.
Fire information officer Alex Lane says the fire east of Nabesche River is in a remote area with no values currently at risk.
The fire started July 26 and was previously being held at an estimated 30 hectares. It's believed to have been caused by lightning.
In video shared with Alaska Highway News, thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing above the Williston shoreline on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"We did have officers take a look at the fire today to identify decision points where if the fire reaches those points, we will consider actioning," Lane said in an update Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, Lane says the wildfire at Hasler Flat near Chetwynd is now estimated at 75 hectares, up from a reported 20 hectares earlier today.
The fire danger rating is currently listed as high for much of the Prince George Fire Centre region on Wednesday afternoon.
A fire ban on fireworks and category 2 and 3 fires remains in effect for the region.
The three-day forecast calls for sun and highs of 22 degrees on Thursday, and 28 C on Friday. A 60% chance of showers is forecast Saturday.

Hot and windy weather has kicked up a two-week-old wildfire on the north side of Williston Lake.
A fire east of the Nabesche River started July 26 and was previously being held at an estimated 30 hectares, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
In video shared with Alaska Highway News, thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing above the Williston shoreline on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The fire is believed to have been caused by lightning. No further details were immediately available from wildfire officials.
Hasler Flat
Meanwhile, a wildfire near Hasler Flat and Chetwynd continues to grow out of control.
Fire information officer Alex Lane says the fire has grown to approximately 20 hectares, though no property or other values are currently threatened.
“It is hot and dry in that area,” said Lane. “We are seeing that size increase because there’s quite a bit of deadfall in that area,” Lane said, adding crews are facing challenging slope and wind conditions.
The fire was reported at two hectares on Tuesday.
