A Fort St. John man has been sentenced to just over three years in jail for a sexual assault in 2019.

Ryan Matthew Fallows was sentenced Wednesday, March 1, to 1,160 days for a break and enter and sexual assault committed in the city on Dec. 14, 2019.

Fallows, 32, will also be put on the National Sex Offender Registry for 20 years and is subject to a no-contact order, a DNA order, and mandatory 10-year firearms prohibition, according to court records.

He spent 200 days in pre-sentence custody and was credited with 300 days; the jail term that would been imposed before the credit was 1,460 days, records show.

Fallows was also sentenced for a number of other crimes last week, including 30 days jail for failing to stop after an accident in Fort St. John on April 11, 2019, and 7 days jail for breach of undertaking the same day.

He was also sentenced to 7 days jail for mischief $5000 or under committed in the city on March 22, 2019, and 7 days jail for another breach on Dec. 1, 2019.

He will serve his jail terms concurrently.
