Suspect arrested two blocks from B&E

"Well-known property offender" Michael Felix apprehended and charged
Arrest

Prince George RCMP are crediting a "timely witness report" for an arrest of a suspect just two blocks away from a break and enter at a local business.

Police were called to a 1600-block Victoria Street business just before 3 p.m. on Sunday where they were able to get a look a images from a surveillance camera showing a man gaining entrance through an insecure side door and leaving with merchandise.

They soon found a suspect matching the one seen on the images.

Michael Darren Felix, 27, has since been charged with break and enter and theft and was released on an order to appear in court at a later date.

Felix is a "well-known property offender," RCMP said.

"Decisive action from Frontline police, along with the public’s assistance, lead to a quick arrest in this matter," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said.

"This is another great example of the community and RCMP working together, and we encourage community members to continue to report suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods and workplaces so we can effectively address criminal behaviour when it is happening."
