Every month Downtown PG features a local business owner and is currently showcasing Les Beaux Visages owner Heather Mahy.
Mahy has kept Les Beaux Visages in the downtown core for more than 30 years.
She’s had lots of opportunities to move her business out of downtown, including invitations to join up with upscale hotels, but she always declined.
"I have always had faith in the downtown core," Mahy said.
Her goal to make the area a desirable place to shop is behind her strong commitment.
Mahy said she loves the vibe downtown.
She and other business owners work hard to make downtown PG a place filled with unique shops.
Local downtown businesses are interdependent and are determined to maintain that one-of-a-kind downtown flavour, she added.
Mahy is originally from Vancouver and moved to Prince George years ago to pursue professional opportunities.
More than three decades later, Mahy still has an intense passion for her work and her business. She never grows tired of helping people feel better about themselves. And you won't find any botox at her spa.
Mahy prefers to emphasize natural beauty, especially with younger clients.
"You get to help clients develop a sense of wholeness and self-esteem in a natural way," she said. "Empowering women is wonderful."
