Nearly three-quarters of the Prince George Cougars home games will be played on weekends under the 2020-21 regular season schedule confirmed Wednesday by the Western Hockey League.

Just 10 of the Cats' 34 home games will be mid-week, while 10 games will be on Friday nights, 12 games on Saturday nights, and two Sunday afternoon games.

They will start their regular season at home when they host the Kamloops Blazers on Sat., Oct. 22.

The schedule includes a three-game homestand after the Christmas break when they play back-to-back contests against the Everett Silvertips on Dec. 28 and 29 and then host the Blazers on New Year's Eve.

All home games are 7 p.m. starts, except for Sundays which start at 2 p.m. The Cougars’ New Year’s Eve game is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Cougars' feature games and theme nights will be released closer to the start of the season.

The Cougars will face the four other B.C. Division teams (Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria) 12 times each and the five U.S. Division teams (Everett, Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Tri-City) four times each.

The schedule will not feature any interlocking games between the Eastern Conference and Western Conference.
