A tragic incident has left a 12-year-old girl with traumatic injuries after she fell and was trapped under a side-by-side ATV in Fort St. John.
Abby Kimmel of Kelowna was trapped and held under the weight of the vehicle, which left her unable to breathe for an extended period of time.
Abby went into a coma and was flown to Vancouver for treatment. She is currently fighting for her life as doctors try to treat the major swelling in her brain.
A GoFundMe has been started for Abby to help with her family's medical costs.
Abby is described as "energetic and full of life."
She has "seven siblings and her parents, who need support while they stay at her side, away from their home in Kelowna. Her adoring father is the sole provider of the family. He remains at the hospital, unable to work; hoping and praying for a miracle," the GoFundMe page says.
