A woman is in custody on suspicion of waving an imitation handgun in the air and pointing it at passing vehicles.

Prince George RCMP said  Maureen Isaac-Johnson, 28, was apprehended last Wed., June 2 after police were called to the corner of 20th Avenue and Victoria Street. Police said several witnesses stated the woman also physically assaulted them while they were in their cars.

RCMP "flooded the area" and Isaac-Johnson was apprehended a few blocks away.

“The suspect was located rapidly due to a combination of detailed reports from multiple witnesses in the area and a well-coordinated search from frontline members, who acted quickly in response to the calls,” said Cst. Jennifer Cooper.

Charges approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service include robbery, using an imitation firearm while committing a robbery, pointing a firearm, assault, assaulting a peace officer and using an imitation weapon.

Isaac-Johnson, who is familiar to police and court, was remanded in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for today.
