After a tumultuous forest fire season, a different view of the great outdoors is coming to Prince George.

The annual Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is stopping in at the Prince George Playhouse on Sept. 25. The first film rolls at 7 p.m. This festival is always a collection of the year's best short-films through to feature length movies that aim cameras on the landscape.

Local organizer Dick Voneugen of the host Cranbrook Hill Greenway Society said "this is the main fundraiser for the Greenway" so a full house is hoped for. The Greenway is the popular and beautiful trail system connecting the Otway Nordic Ski Centre's network of trails with the UNBC network of trails. The Greenway is a star performer in the city's system of urban trails.

Tickets are $20, $15 for students, and are on sale now at Stride & Glide and at Books & Company.
