Tandy and Caledonia club member Sarah Beaudry have been picked for Canada's four-women World Cup team for the first trimester of the 2016-17 season. Matt Neumann and Emily Dickson will represent Prince George on their respective IBU Cup and IBU junior circuits.

Sunday was a proud day indeed for the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club.
Biathlon Canada announced four athletes from the Prince George-based club have earned positions on national teams for the first trimester of the 2016-17 season. The list includes World Cup team members Megan Tandy and Sarah Beaudry, who will fly Canada’s flag at World Cup events in Sweden, Solvenia and the Czech Republic.
Tandy lives with her son in Germany, while Beaudry is now a resident of Canmore, Alta., where the national team is based.
Another Prince George athlete, Matt Neumann, has been picked for Canada’s IBU Cup biathlon team. Neumann will head overseas to Italy and Austria to compete in the first IBC Cup series events of the season. Neumann also lives in Canmore.
Caledonia club member Emily Dickson, a native of Burns Lake who moved to Prince George a few years ago, made the junior women’s national squad for IBU junior biathlon events in Switzerland and Austria.
One other Caledonia club alumni, Prince George native Eric de Nys, serves as Biathlon Canada’s high-performance director for the national and development teams.
The Caledonia club will host the Canadian national and North American biathlon championships at Otway Nordic Centre, March 6-12, 2017.
