Yip, a long-time Prince George cyclist, clocked a time of three hours 45 minutes to win the male individual 20-49 age category, as well as the overall title.

The goal of the race: complete as many 11-kilometre single-track laps of gnarly terrain as fast as possible in the allotted 4.5-hour time frame at the Otway Nordic Centre.

Yip's lap times were consistently in the 43- to 45-minute range with his fastest time in the first lap (43:31.81) to 45:28.739 in his final lap.

Nathan Blok followed Yip in second place with a five-lap combined time of 3:52:25.66.

Doug Dewar pedalled to third with an overall time of 3:59:51.90.

Seven riders out of 18 in the age category completed five laps.

In the male individual 1-19 age division, Paul Rohner completed five laps in 4:21:48.88 for first place, followed by Cody Strickland in second place with an overall time of 4:22:43.74.

Ed Day, a retired Prince George teacher and former member of Canada's national cross-country ski team, won the male individual 50-plus age division, completing four laps in 3:43:06.71.

Andrew Snaden followed in second place with a four-lap time of 4:19:35.52.

Rod Shigeoka placed third, completing three laps in 3:10:07.37.

Dirk van der Walt was fourth with a three-lap combined time of 3:18:29.96.

In the female individual 20-49 age division, Nikki Kassel completed five laps, clocking an overall time of 4:13:46.23. Erin Reynolds traversed across three laps to finish second in 3:17:17.27. Chrissy Blok followed in third place, completing two laps in 2:47:47.22.

Cheryl Moors was the lone rider in the female individual 50-plus division and completed three laps in 3:19:52.03.

In the male two-person team under-90 years (combined age), David Lee and Kelly Servinski joined forces for a time of 4:27:45.71 across six laps to finish first. Chris Repko and Daniel Repko completed four laps in a time of 4:05:23.31 to finish second, while Jamie Work and Graham Work completed three laps in 3:38:31.48 to finish third.

Luc St. Deni and Bill Logan were the lone male team in the 90 years-plus division and completed four laps in 3:49:28.71.

Kaethe Patterson and Maizie Bernard were the only female team in the under-90 years division, completing three laps in 3:17:23.08.

In the mixed two-person team under-90 years, Phil Hiom and Grace Hiom combined for a four-lap time of 3:42:18.08 to win the division. Dave Sandsmark and Susan Russel were next in second place at 3:55:18.03 (four laps), while Alice Muirhead and Graham Muirhead were third with a time of 3:55:48.62 over four laps.

Pat Dube and Patti Dube combined in the mixed two-person team 90 years-plus where they completed three laps in 3:21:01.54 to win the category. They were the lone team in the division.
