The Vanderhoof Rippers had a weekend to remember at the Randy's A's Memorial fastball tournament in Invermere.
Nicholas Potskin provided the late-game push which helped the Rippers beat the Chase Prowlers 5-4 in Sunday's final.
Potskin hit a double in the bottom of the seventh inning, got within 60 feet of home on a fielder's choice, then scored the walkoff winner, crossing home plate on a passed ball.
In the sixth inning, Kalen Bird of Vanderhoof hit a two-run home run off Prowlers pitcher Spud Barker, followed by a solo shot from Sheldon Patrick which gave the Rippers the lead, but Chase tied it in the top of the seventh.
The Rippers were 3-1 going into the championship game. Their only loss came Saturday night when the Prowlers beat them 5-4.
Norm Linton carried the pitching load in all five games for Vanderhoof and was one of four Rippers to hit a home run. The Rippers also defeated the host Jay's Canadians, Kiani Tribe and Randy's A's.
