When John Herdman, head coach of the Canadian women's soccer team, had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, organizers of the UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Breakfast managed to get Michael 'Pinball' Clemons, Canadian Football Hall of Famer and current vice-chair of the Toronto Argonauts, to step in.

Clemons will speak about Winning Against All Odds during the Timberwolves major fundraiser on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 a.m. at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre.

"We are very excited to welcome Michael 'Pinball' Clemons to Prince George," said Loralyn Murdoch, UNBC's director of athletics and recreation.

"I have heard nothing but positive feedback about Michael's ability to captivate and empower audiences wherever he goes, and we believe his energy will be contagious."

The first annual event held last year, where five-time Olympic medallist Hayley Wickenheiser was the speaker, raised more than $40,000 that went toward scholarships and bursaries for UNBC student athletes.

Tickets are $75 each or $600 for a table of eight.
