Spruce Kings get lost in the Wild

Charlie Combs led the Wenatchee Wild, collecting a goal and two assists in a 6-1 win over the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings Friday. Joseph Drabin, Tony Conzo, Dakota Raabe and Kyle Stephan also scored for the Wild, in front of a crowd of 3,221.

Charlie Combs led the Wenatchee Wild, collecting a goal and two assists in a 6-1 win over the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings Friday.

Joseph Drabin, Tony Conzo, Dakota Raabe and Kyle Stephan also scored for the Wild, in front of a crowd of 3,221. Kings rookie Ben Poisson scored his first B.C. Hockey League goal early in the second period.

The win improved Wenatchee's record to 30-15-2-3 and moved the Wild within three points of the first-place Chilliwack Chiefs atop the BCHL Mainland Division standings.

The Spruce Kings (12-36-3-1), remained fifth in the Mainland.

The same teams meet again tonight in Wenatchee (7:05 p.m. start). The Kings then travel to Coquitlam to play the Express Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m..
