Jason Conn had a tough act to follow when he hauled his sprint car from Prince George to Idaho for three days of racing in the King of the Wing national sprintcar series.

Coming off his first win of the season, Aug. 19 in Dacano, Colo., Conn entered the feature race Thursday in Twin Falls, Idaho, and ended up sixth in the main event.

The 32-year-old Prince George driver and his Aijen Motorsports team then traveled to Meridian, Idaho, for a weekend doubleheader. In a field of 27 cars, Conn placed eighth on Friday and 11th on Saturday.

Now in his second full season racing the series in his 825-horsepower, 1,300-pound rocket on wheels, Conn opened the 12-race national series June 24 with a third-place finish in the main event in West Valley City, Utah. He also placed third on the second tour stop July 20 in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The series wraps up in November with several races in California.

Last year, Conn finished third overall in the points standings. Updated points including the Idaho races were not available, but Conn was ranked third heading into Meridian.

Ron Larson of Quesnel also made it down to Idaho and was sixth in Saturday's main, equaling his best result of the season. Larson placed 11th in Twin Falls and 21st in Friday's race at Meridian.
