The trade of trainers is now complete.

The Cariboo Cougars announced Saturday that Pam Solmonson has agreed to join the B.C. Hockey Major Midget League team as athletic trainer.

Solmonson, a graduate of the human kinetics diploma program at the College of New Caledonia who also studied kinesiology at the University of Calgary, spent the past three seasons in the B.C. Hockey League as the Prince George Spruce Kings athletic trainer.

She is also trained as a sports first responder.

Solmonson, a native of Prince George, has 14 years of experience as a hockey trainer, having participated in three B.C. Cup under-16 high performance tournaments in B.C. and Alberta.

She replaces Rick Brown, who left to join the Spruce Kings after four years with the Cougars as the team's athletic therapist.

The Cougars also announced that head coach and general manager Trevor Sprague will return to the team for 2016-17, as will assistant coaches Brian MacLean and Tyler Brough and goaltending coach James Morrison.

The Cougars will be the host team of the Telus Cup national midget championship, April 24-30 at CN Centre.
