Pam Solmonson is taking her talents out of town.

Solmonson, who has worked with the Prince George Spruce Kings and most recently the Cariboo Cougars, has been hired as the new athletic trainer/equipment manager of the B.C. Hockey League's Salmon Arm Silverbacks. She'll begin her new job on Aug. 1, in time for the start of the annual Salmon Arm Hockey School.

"Pam has a tremendous amount of experience that she will be bringing us this season," said Silverbacks general manager Troy Mick. "I have worked with Pam in the B.C. Hockey high performance program and she is an absolute professional in her field."

Along with her practical experience, Solmonson holds a degree in kinesiology.

"She will be a huge asset to our team moving forward," Mick said.

The Spruce Kings and Silverbacks are BCHL rivals, while the Cougars skate in the B.C. Hockey Major Midget League.
