Soccer team kicks to title in OT

The Prince George Special Olympics soccer team had to put in a little extra work to clinch gold at a weekend tournament in Abbotsford. At the 15-team Special Olympics B.C. event, Prince George and Langley met in the championship game.

The Prince George Special Olympics soccer team had to put in a little extra work to clinch gold at a weekend tournament in Abbotsford.

At the 15-team Special Olympics B.C. event, Prince George and Langley met in the championship game. The clubs were tied 4-4 after regulation time and P.G. netted the winning goal in overtime.

Prince George began the tournament with a 4-3 loss to Langley. After that defeat, the local players bounced back for a 12-0 victory against Quesnel 2, a decision that set up the rematch with Langley.

Members of the Prince George squad are Chase Caron, Greg Cole, Greg Eveneshen, Jennifer Germann, Daniel Lafreniere, Tegan Raines, Adrian Rosen, Sam Russell, Leif Skuggedal, Marinka VanHage and Chris Zorn.
