Prince George Ski Club athletes were swift on the slopes at last weekend's Sun Peaks Nancy Greene Ski Race.

At the 15th annual multi-discipline festival, P.G. skiers posted a club-record six top-three finishes and seven top-10 results. The meet, held at the mountain resort near Kamloops, drew more than 560 competitors from across the country and featured speed trap, ski cross, moguls and dual slalom/giant slalom.

"I can say that these results recognize Prince George Ski Club as a major player in B.C.," said Dan Hadley, program director and head coach of the PGSC. "Proportionally, based upon numbers attending the festival, our club had more top-10 finishes than almost all other B.C. clubs. As a club, we have only begun to scratch the surface of our potential."

For the PGSC, one of the highlights of the two-day gathering was a first-place finish by Zoe Pohl in speed trap, which sees a skier try for the highest possible speed, as timed over a fixed stretch of slope. Pohl was competing in the 2005 female division. Also in speed trap, Asha Schokking (2007 female) placed second and Isaac Hausot (2005 male) ended up third.

Prince George skiers also excelled in ski cross and moguls. In ski cross, Katie Devlin (2010 female) and Connor Hausot (2007 male) both finished third, which was the same result as Adree Brulotte (2006 female) in moguls.

In dual slalom/giant slalom, results were as follows: Peyton Devlin (2007 female), fourth out of 65 competitors; Henley Devlin (2011 female), sixth out of 18; Connor Hausot (2007 male), seventh out of 56; Brulotte (2006 female), seventh out of 53; Katie Devlin (2010 female), seventh out of 20; Isaac Hausot (2005 male), ninth out of 36; and Abigayl Bertucci (2010 female), ninth out of 20.
