Olivia Boys-Eddy and Mackenzie Boys-Eddy of Ontario edged a team from Quebec to win gold in pairs novice figure skating at Lakewood Dental Arena on Thursday.
The Boys-Eddy siblings were awarded 72.51 points for their Thursday free skate and, when combined with their 34.88 score from Tuesday's short program, their total of 107.39 was enough to earn them gold medals. Quebec's Lori-Ann Matte and Thierry Ferland got 72.09 points for their free skate and took silver with their total of 105.22. Katrina Lopez and Kurtis Schreiber of Alberta (50.94 free skate, total of 80.03) were the bronze-medalists.
