McIntosh lights up Crossfire

Blake McIntosh outscored the M. Daniels Consulting Crossfire during a Monday night game in the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association.

McIntosh, a veteran sharpshooter for the Westwood Pub Devils, fired eight goals in his team's 18-7 victory against the Quesnel-based Crossfire. In the game, played at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena, McIntosh also chipped in with two assists for a 10-point night.

Four of McIntosh's goals came in the first period. Heading into the second, his Devils had a 7-2 lead. Westwood Pub struck six more times in the middle frame and capped the game off with five in the third period.

Dave Bennett and Pierce Watson each added two goals and three assists for the winners. Other marksmen for the Devils were Brian Horning (2), Scott Anderson, Asahel Beaudet, Monty Jones and midget call-up Alex Nimmo.

Devin Whalen and Bryston Waffle paced the Crossfire with two goals and one assist each. The Crossfire also got goals from Brody Lawlor, Chase Ballendine and Levi Robertson.

The Devils outshot the Crossfire 58-32.

Westwood Pub, which had a 44-game winning streak stopped at last season's senior C provincial championship tournament, improved to 2-0 this season. Quesnel, meanwhile, dropped to 0-2.

The Devils will be back on the RMCA floor tonight (8 p.m.) for a game against the Northland Nissan Assault (0-1).
