Kiland swings to U.S. college honour

Kristian Kiland's success on the tennis court has earned him recognition south of the border.

Kiland, a 21-year-old Prince George product who plays for the Doane College Tigers of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, was named a first-team conference all-star on Monday. Doane College, located in Crete, Neb., competes in the NAIA's Great Plains Athletic Conference.

Kiland was selected to the first GPAC team as a singles player. On the season, he posted a 12-4 overall record. In conference play, he went 4-1.

Kiland was in his third year at Doane. He's a graduate of Kelly Road secondary school.
