The Prince George Cougars return to home ice tonight to face off against the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the lone meeting between the two Western Hockey League squads this season.

It's the first contest (7 p.m.) of a three-game homestand for the Cougars as the Vancouver Giants also visit CN Centre Friday and Saturday night.

At 3-4 and six points after seven games - which puts them sixth in the Western Conference - the Cats are licking their wounds after returning from a two-game road trip that saw them beat the Spokane Chiefs 6-2 Saturday and suffer a 6-1 loss at the hands of the Giants Sunday.

The Hurricanes are 1-3-0-1 with three points and are 11th in the Eastern Conference. They arrive in Prince George after they were edged 3-2 in a shootout by the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday. Their lone victory was a 4-3 decision Oct. 1 against the Calgary Hitmen.

The Cougars are seeking only their second victory at home, which would put them at the .500 mark overall.

Left-winger Chase Witala and centre Jansen Harkins are tied for the team lead in scoring, each with nine points. Witala has three goals and six assists, while Harkins has two goals and seven assists.
