Prince George Gymnastics Club athletes swept three different categories of competition at the Zone 8 championships in Quesnel last weekend. Locals claimed all three podium spots in the Level 2, Level 4 and Level 6 junior divisions.

In Level 2, Lillianne Sullivan led the way with a first all-around finish. Sullivan was in her first gymnastics competition and placed second in each of her individual events - uneven bars, balance beam, vault and floor exercise. Also in Level 2, Annie Olsen was second all-around and Ava Stringer was third.

In Level 4, Casey Muise, Katy Harasym (second) and Emma Movold (third) gave Prince George the sweep. Muise won the category with first-place finishes on bars, beam and floor and a second-place showing on vault.

In Level 6 junior, Madison Willier, Tianna Lepine and Gyongyi Kiraly finished first through third in the all-around standings. Willier grabbed first place thanks to gold medals on balance beam and vault and fourth-place results on bars and floor.

Local gymnast Hanna Piddocke also gave a first all-around performance at the meet. Piddocke (first on bars and beam, fourth on floor, fifth on vault) topped the Level 6 division in her first competitive event.

Top-three all-around finishes were also turned in by Kaydence Bellerive (third, Level 3), Annikah Marshall (second, Level 4 junior), Danielle Bobbie (third, Level 4 junior) and Kaitlyn Muir (second, Level 6).

"All of our coaches are very pleased with our showing in Quesnel," said Prince George head coach Jodie Hinks. "These results are a fantastic start to our competitive season."
