It's now official.

Four Prince George biathletes from the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club have made the cut for Team B.C. to compete in the Canada Winter Games.

Arthur Roots and Bobby Kreitz will be on the men's team while Emily Dickson and Claire Lapointe will be the hometown favourites on the women's provincial team when they line up at Otway Nordic Centre to race in the Games, Feb. 15-20.

Also picked for the B.C. team were Emile Vogel-Nakamura of Vancouver, Jarod Algra of Abbotsford,Tekarra Banser of West Kelowna and Jennah Smailes of West Kelowna.

Erica Erasmus of Vanderhoof and three-time Olympian Glenn Rupertus of Squamish are the B.C. team coaches. Rob Swan of Kelowna is the team manager and Ron Metza of Vernon will be the wax technician.

The team was picked based on results from Nor-Am Cup races held two weeks ago in Canmore. The team will have B.C. Cup events in Quesnel, Jan. 3-4, and at Whistler, Jan. 24-25, to get into race mode leading up to the Games in February.

Although there isn't enough snow on the trails to ski, the four Prince George biathletes will be at the Otway range practicing today from 9:30-11 a.m.
