Former Prince George Spruce Kings winger Chong-Hyun Lee will represent his native Korea at the IIHF world hockey championships next month in Denmark.

The 20-year-old Lee, who played for Korea in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in February, will face Finland in his team's opening game May 5 in Herning, Denmark.

Korea went 0-4 at the Olympic tournament, losing to the Czech Republic, Canada, Switzerland and Finland. Lee played 1/12 seasons for the Spruce Kings, joining them in January 2016 as an affiliated player. He finished with 15 goals and 36 points in 45 games last season.

Lee, who turns 21 in July, is an older brother of current Spruce Kings right winger, Chong-Min Lee, and is now attending Yonsei University in Seoul. Chong-Hyun plays college hockey at Yonsei with his 23-year-old brother, Chong-Jae.

Chong-Min, 18, joined the Spruce Kings at the end of last season. He had seven goals and 19 points in 47 regular-season games in 2017-18. Heading into Thursday's Game 5 of the BCHL championship series in Wenatchee, Chong-Min had played all 23 playoff games and had four assists.

Athleticism runs in the Lee family. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles their mother, then known as Choi Kyung-Hee, won a silver medal in basketball.
