Keegan Craik has officially joined the Prince George Cougars.

The six-foot-one, 155-pound forward signed a player agreement with the Cougars earlier this week, having been picked in the fifth round of the 2016 bantam draft, 97th overall.

Craik, a native of Brentwood Bay, scored 16 goals and six assists for 22 points along with 50 minutes in penalty time in 25 games with the Delta Hockey Academy's bantam prep team. He collected a goal and two assists in three playoff games.

"It's a great feeling to begin the next step of my hockey career with a great organization like the Prince George Cougars," said Craik, in a team release.

Craik has been invited to Team B.C.'s summer camp in mid-July at Shawnigan Lake and will be battling for one of 20 spots on the provincial team roster to play in the Under-16 Challenge Cup in Calgary in October.

"Keegan Craik is going to be a very good hockey player for the Prince George Cougars one day," said Cougars general manager Todd Harkins. "He's a big-bodied forward who skates well and he's committed to getting to the dirty areas of the ice to create scoring chances. He plays a solid two-way game that we covet in all of our forwards."
