The Prince George Cougars dipped into the B.C. minor hockey pool with their fifth-round pick in today's Western Hockey League bantam draft in Calgary.

The Cougars chose forward Keegan Craik, a left-shooting forward from Richmond. The five-foot-11, 147-pound Craik became the 98th-overall pick in the draft.

Craik played for the Delta Wild this season and showed a good touch around the net. In 25 games, he scored 16 goals (three on the power play) and added six assists for 22 points.

Craik was the first forward chosen by the Cougars in this year's draft.

The Cats did not have a fourth-round pick because they traded it to the Regina Pats in the deal that brought forward Jesse Gabrielle to Prince George. The Pats used the pick to take centre Tristen Robins.
