Cougars look to keep streak going in Seattle

The Prince George Cougars will try for their fourth consecutive win when they skate against the Seattle Thunderbirds tonight in Kent, Wash. The Cougars are coming off a pair of 2-1 home-ice decisions against the Vancouver Giants.

The Prince George Cougars will try for their fourth consecutive win when they skate against the Seattle Thunderbirds tonight in Kent, Wash.

The Cougars are coming off a pair of 2-1 home-ice decisions against the Vancouver Giants. Before that, they knocked off the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-2. This will be the first meeting of the Western Hockey League season between the Cats and T-birds.

The game will feature the top two picks from the 2012 bantam draft - Mathew Barzal of the Thunderbirds and Jansen Harkins of the Cougars. Currently, both are leading their teams in scoring, Barzal with four goals and 11 points for Seattle and Harkins with two goals and 15 points for Prince George.

Heading into the contest, the Cougars (6-4-0-0) are in third place in the B.C. Division, while the Thunderbirds (4-4-0-1) sit fourth in the U.S. Division. Seattle last played on Wednesday night and fell 4-1 to the host Spokane Chiefs, a game in which they were outshot 43-19.

The Cougars will also be in Vancouver on Saturday for a rematch against the Giants. The last time the Cats took on the Giants at the Pacific Coliseum, they were dealt a 6-1 loss.
