Four different marksmen, including former Prince George Cougars defenceman Josh Anderson, helped the host Swift Current Broncos defeat the Cougars in a Tuesday night Western Hockey League game.

The Broncos downed the Cougars 4-0, with goaltender Joel Hofer getting the shutout. Prince George got 30 shots on net, 20 of them in the third period.

The Broncos led 1-0 after 20 minutes and 2-0 after 40. Two more goals in the third period - the last one by Anderson on the power play - produced the final outcome.

Anderson was playing his 10th game for the Broncos since being traded from Prince George on Jan. 7 for two first-round bantam draft picks. As a Bronco, he now has one goal and three assists.

Tyler Steenbergen - who scored the game-winning goal for Canada against Sweden earlier this month in the world junior hockey championship gold-medal game in Buffalo - netted his 37th of the season for the Broncos at 13:01 of the first period. Other goals came from Matteo Gennaro (power play) and Max Patterson.

Tavin Grant, who faced 40 shots, took the loss for the Cougars.

The Broncos improved to 36-12-3-1 and are now on a three-game winning streak while the Cougars slipped to 18-25-4-4.

The Cougars play again tonight in Regina against the Pats (25-22-5-0), who hold the first wildcard playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Cats will wrap up their six-game road trip with Friday and Saturday games in Brandon and Moose Jaw.

Next home action for the Cougars is Feb. 9-10 against the Kamloops Blazers.
