Bartek Bison scored the winner at the 4:23 mark of overtime to help lift his Prince George Cougars to a 3-2 victory over the Kootenay Ice Saturday afternoon.

It was Bison's second goal, and third point of the Western Hockey League preseason clash that was played in Kennewick, Wa. as the Cougars rallied from a two-goal deficit late in the game.

Bison, a 17-year-old six-foot-three 187-pound left-winger from Amsterdam, Holland who was selected by the Cougars in the CHL's import draft in June, also scored the equalizer at the 15:16 mark of the third period to send the game into overtime.

The Ice skated out to a 2-0 lead on goals from 19-year-old centre Matt Alfaro in the first period and 17-year-old centre Vince Loschiavo at the 4:03 mark of the third frame.

Less than five minutes later, Bison set up 16-year-old Justin Almeida to narrow the lead to one.

Almeida, along with 19-year-old centre Tyler Mrkonjic then set up Bison to tie the game at 2-2 with less than five minutes remaining in the third.

The Cougars outshot the Ice 37-16 as Tavin Grant and Patrick Gora each faced eight shots apiece in splitting the goaltending duties for the Cats.

Prince George's exhibition record is now 2-2-0-1 and they now return home for a week of practice to prepare to host the Kamloops Blazers in another preseason match-up on Sept. 19 at CN Centre.
