Northern BC Children & Families Hearing Society is collecting discontinued pennies as their major fundraiser for the year. Proceeds will help fund activities designed for deaf and hard of hearing children.
To arrange drop off of pennies, phone 250-563-2425, email pgdeaf@telus.net or drop in cans at Integris Credit Union – 5th and Ahbau Street.
The fundraiser will run the whole month of May and will finish with a Silent Walk/Family Barbeque at Fort George Park on Sunday, May 27th.
The Society’s mandate is to provide education, networking/socializing opportunities and emotional support to deaf and hard of hearing children and their families across Northern BC.
In a tragic story of one man's plight to re-unite with his soul mate, Daniel sets off to attend the funeral in a neighboring town. We are taken on a personal odyssey of grief and survival, as Daniel finds himself Stranded at the bottom of the cliff. He sets forth to escape his ill fate, or perhaps only survive. Daniel struggles with survival, denial, and the fact that he could miss his soul mate's funeral.
This locally-produced, 50 min. film will have its first screening at Art Space in Prince George, BC on June 7th, 2012 at 7pm.

Time to shake off winter and dance your cares away! On Thursday nights, starting April 12th, join Amanita Middle Eastern Dance for a fun "shimmy sampler" at 6 pm, or a funky tribal romp at 7:30 pm! Classes run for eight weeks and are accessible for all levels of dancer.

Ultimate Frisbee is a co-ed sport that combines soccer, football, and basketball and is played with a flying disc. It is a easy sport to start and a challenging sport to master so newcomers and experienced players are welcome. ASL (Sign Language) Classes for families with a deaf or hard-of hearing member, and friends and family who interact with a deaf or hard of hearing person in their lives. There will be two separate classes, one for young children and one for older children and adults. Students will learn some basic signs, play games to reinforce the signs learned, and will be able to sign a short simple story from a PowerPoint.
