The Dreaming Out Loud Aboriginal Youth Conference takes place on August 21 - 23 in Lejac, BC. Enjoy three days packed with educational and entertaining workshops about health, culture, history... and achieving your dreams!
Five very special guests will be there to inspire aboriginal teens:
-- TA’KAIYA BLANEY – an eleven-year old actress, singer, and song-writer from Sliammon First Nation who has been in the news for her work advocating against the proposed Enbridge pipeline
-- LINSAY WILLIER – competed against thousands of other Canadians to achieve runner-up on Canada’s Next Top Model. Linsay uses her talent, fame, and business skills to encourage and inspire aboriginal youth
-- JAMES JONES – left gangs, drugs, and alcohol to focus on hip hop and cultural dancing. He’s been on So You Think You Can Dance Canada and has performed around the world
-- JUSTIN YOUNG – after freeing himself from addictions, he started a 2,200 km journey to raise awareness. Along the way, he was supported and strengthened by many... and shared his inspirational story.
-- DAMIEN KETLO – by age twenty-one, goalie Damien Ketlo completed four seasons in the Western Hockey League and also played for the Colorado Eagles in the ECHL. He has big dreams for his sport
