B.C. holiday should be called Terry Fox Day

To Premier Horgan: If Prince Edward Island can have Islander Day and Manitoba can have Louis Riel Day, why can't you change our Family Day to Terry Fox Day? It's about time we bestow a day for a true Canadian hero. Warner Bliskis Prince George

Terry Fox, who lost his right leg to cancer three years earlier, was forced to stop his cross-Canada marathon to raise funds for cancer research in Thunder Bay, Ont., on Sept. 2, 1980. B.C. should honour Fox by naming its February holiday him, a letter writer says.

To Premier Horgan:

If Prince Edward Island can have Islander Day and Manitoba can have Louis Riel Day, why can't you change our Family Day to Terry Fox Day?

It's about time we bestow a day for a true Canadian hero.
