The ESPY awards were more than a week ago, but I only just caught up on some of the good from the show over the weekend.
Since I'm not enough of a rabid sports fan to care which athletes took home trophies, I was more interested in seeing how Drake fared as show host. After his incredibly well-received stint this past season hosting Saturday Night Live, I had high hopes.
He may not have knocked it all out of the park, but one bit had me in stitches, and that was a song he performed (with the help of very soulful Brian McKnight) dedicated to the worst-kept secret in sports - the extra-marital encounters.
The song, Side Pieces, was "about the real glue that holds the sports world together," Drake joked with utter sincerity. And if it made some people in the audience squirm and laugh a little too forcefully, all the funnier.
