Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you! I wanted to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you for your continued feedback as well as support. Also, don't forget that subscriptions to the Citizen make an excellent Christmas present, so if you're still scrambling for gift ideas, get online and sign up a friend. Local news is the best news!

At this point in the year, I customarily write directly to those who are fans, indifferent, or completely out of touch regarding my work. But before I go on, if you've ever thought about getting involved with the Citizen, you should definitely call editor-in-chief Neil Godbout and see where you might fit in. Writing a weekly column for The Citizen was one of the best decisions of my life. I enjoy every minute of writing my column and strongly encourage you to get involved!

And now, without any further adieu or high costs of postage for individual cards, here is my annual general missive to the three aforementioned groups of readers:

To the indifferent, I must say your poise worries me. I tend to best understand those who are either encouraged or disgusted by my various ideas and comments. I suppose my writing isn't for everyone, but I truly believe my lack of effect on such a large number of you is my greatest failure as a columnist. I can only hope that someday I am able to help you "get woke" to the various evils that our narcissistic, liberal culture has fostered, even if it turns you against me.

To my fans, from the erudite readers to the deplorable Archie Bunker trolls, again I thank you for your unwavering support. Your handshakes in public and your private notes help me to maintain the strength and courage to fight back against the ever growing tide of ignorance that can be seen in print and comment threads directed towards me at every turn. Together, we will continue to fight the politically correct orthodoxy that threatens our country, homes, and souls.

My final encouragement of this year is to never go on the defensive - take the fight to the enemy at every opportunity and outflank the ignorant by appeals to truth, justice, and virtue. Do not allow yourself to ever agree with arguments that bow to coercion, economic or otherwise. If you will not yield to their bullying, I promise you two things: first, that you will have to endure yet more violence; but secondly, you will find allies in places you never thought to look. Godspeed.

And to those among you who would happily read of my death in this very paper, I appeal to you yet again to leave behind your wicked allegiances. Understand in no uncertain terms that every uncritical, dogmatic thought you howl at me is really only destroying yourself and reinforcing a malignant power's narrative - perhaps even getting them paid. These people will discard you the moment their "project" is achieved. They are using you for their own ends.

Furthermore, I must repeat my hope that you either learn to read well or enroll in a class that will teach you the vital works, authors and philosophical concepts that I am referencing.

Finally, I appeal to you, my enemies, as fellow images of God - do not let resentment and bitterness continue to be your primary motivator. I too carry plenty of it - I still have much to work through. But every worthwhile moment of my life has come from the realization that I must change myself first.

Do not give another second to projects or thoughts based on resentment. There is only one way forward in the world: to change your own hearts by volition and discipline.

All the same, I wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you, and, again, thank you all for your continued support wherever you place yourself in respect to Right of Center. I cannot wait to see what next year will bring.

Thanks again and God bless us, everyone!
