Vanderhoof man victim in First Avenue fatal

Scotty Bryan, 36, of Vanderhoof was the person who died Sunday night when struck by a pickup truck while crossing First Avenue, the B.C. Coroners Service said Friday.

Bryan and another person were crossing First Avenue near Dominion Street from north to south when the eastbound pickup truck hit them. Byran was rushed to University Hospital of Northern B.C., but succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards.

The second person was also taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

Identities of the two people killed Thursday morning when a semi truck hit them near the corner of 22nd Avenue and Nicholson Street next to College of New Caledonia have not yet been released.
