CN Rail's line from Prince George to Prince Rupert is back in operation following a collision Friday morning between a log hauling truck and a train.

The site near Burns Lake was cleared as of 6:50 a.m. Saturday, CN said.

"Customers should expect minimal delays as service in the area returns to normal levels," the company said in a service update.

The driver and a CN Rail worker both escaped with minor injuries although the collision forced two locomotives and 22 cars off the track while also knocking over the truck and spilling its logs.

The mishap occurred where a private road crosses the track about 20 km west of Burns Lake and near Decker Lake sawmill.
