Two sets of vandalism incidents over the past two weekends have the Prince George RCMP asking for the public's help.

Police received three reports of vandalism from three different properties on the morning of April 4 after the AimHi building on Kerry Street, D.P. Todd secondary school on Hill Avenue and Heritage elementary on Anderson Street were all hit. In all three cases, the suspects spray painted a significant portion of the buildings, including windows, doors and walls.

Video surveillance has been obtained by the police, but legal issues prevent that video from being released at this time, according to RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Craig Douglass.

The video depicts five young people walking behind D.P. Todd just before 11 p.m. on April 3. Police said two appear to be female and three male, all seeming to have fair skin and approximately 15 years old. Two of the three males have their faces partially covered with clothing.

On the morning of April 12, police received a similar report in the same area of town after graffiti was sprayed on the former Highland elementary school building on McDermid Drive.

Attending officers found paint sprayed on all sides of the school, including windows, doors and walls. Several vehicles and a boat in the neighbours were also vandalized, mostly by paint. These offences were thought to have taken place between 11:30 p.m. April 11 and 7 a.m. April 12.

"The suspects in all of the above investigations are likely traveling by foot, late at night, and have knowledge of the area," said Douglass, in a press release. "They will likely have paint on their fingers and hands."

Anyone with information about those responsible are asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca, or Text-A-Tip to 274637 using keyword "pgtips."

"These deliberate acts of vandalism have cost property owners thousands of dollars and deface our community," Douglass said.
