The new RCMP detachment will be open to the public April 28.

The Prince George RCMP will start moving into their new home this Tuesday but will also continue enforce the law and provide other services.

Calls to 911 and the detachment's main line, 250-561-3300, will still be answered and criminal record checks, finger printing and chauffeurs permits will still be available at the old detachment's front counter during workdays, except for Friday, April 25.

That said, if you can wait until the new detachment at 455 Victoria St. opens on Monday, April 28, police are asking you do so.

"Although our front counter will only be closed for one additional day due to the move, we would encourage members of the public to avoid attending the detachment, if possible, during this period," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said.
