The Prince George Public Library is offering teens the opportunity to visit the past - in terms of video gaming.

Today from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Bob Harkins branch is hosting a Retro Nintendo afternoon. Teens will be able to play classic Nintendo games like Mario and Donkey Kong on the original system on a big screen

"Before you could access the universe on your smartphone, you had to use a joystick," said Andrea Palmer, the library's communications co-ordinator, adding that today's event is "a teen program where they can come and they'll be able to access old-school gaming systems and old-school games."

Games Quest, a second-hand video game store, is donating the use of their older Nintendo systems for the event.

The event is free for those participating.
