Integris exec earns praise

A local banking executive has been named one of the top young people in North America in that field.

Alex Castley, the engagement and communications manager with Integris Credit Union in Prince George, has been named one of five finalists in the 2014 CUES Next Top Credit Union Executive Challenge.

To make the finals, CUES (Credit Union Executives Society) considers only those under the age of 36 and employed by a credit union. The application process begins with a short video outlining a special project the candidate is working on at his/her local branch. In Castley's case it was the methodology for attracting young clients and staff to Integris.

Online voting narrows the field to the top 15, then a panel of judges whittled that down to five.

"This was a completely unexpected and huge honour," said Castley. "I attribute making the top five in North America to the organization I work for. I am encouraged and given the autonomy to be creative and try new things. Most importantly, I have had tremendous support from Integris staff. My presentation will reflect how incredible and innovative our organization is, and how these values translate to a bright future."

Castley won a prize package that includes coaching sessions from challenge sponsor DDJ Myers, one of North America's leading executive leadership development firms, plus a trip to Florida for a CUES executive team networking event in November. There, an overall winner will be announced.

Another round of online voting will help influence the final decision. To vote for Castley, go to www.NextTopCreditUnionExec.com between 2 p.m. Nov. 3 and 5 p.m. Nov. 4. The public vote forms part of the candidates' overall final scores.
