A popular restaurant in the BCR Industrial site was the scene of a fire early Tuesday morning.

Damage to the main floor of Just Goode Food Restaurant, 990 Railway Road, was limited to smoke damage but it did cause some structural damage in the basement, Prince George Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Greg Wilkins said.

Fifteen firefighters from three halls were called to the scene at 3:15 a.m. where they found heavy smoke coming from the building.

"Crews advanced hose lines and determined the fire was in the basement of the structure," Wilkins said. "Fire attack was hampered because it was difficult to clear the smoke and heat from the windowless basement. "

An estimate of the dollar loss nor when the restaurant will re-open were available as of Tuesday morning.

There were no reported injuries and a preliminary investigation indicated the fire's cause was not suspicious.
