A 53-year-old Alberta woman died in Tuesday morning's motor vehicle incident south of McLeod Lake.
The woman had pulled over to chain up the commercial vehicle she was driving when a passing transport truck slide sideways on the ice and struck her, Mackenzie RCMP said.
The incident occurred on Highway 97 about 25 km south of McLeod Lake at about 7:25 a.m. and the stretch was closed for much of the day while police conducted an investigation.
The woman's name was not released pending notification of the next of kin.
