Today's high winds are starting to take their toll on B.C. Hydro's local service.

As of 9:44 a.m. 118 homes in the Chief Lake Road area are without power because of trees down across power lines.

A further 36 west of Cranbrook Hill Road and north of Westcrest Road are also without service although the cause is under investigation.

There are smaller pockets elsewhere in the Prince George area.
