Wind knocks out power to rural homes

Roughly 530 rural customers in the Prince George area were without electricity as a wind storm toppled trees toppling over powerlines mid-Friday, according to B.C. Hydro.

Roughly 530 rural customers in the Prince George area were without electricity as a wind storm toppled trees toppling over powerlines mid-Friday, according to B.C. Hydro.

Some 440 of them are to the west of the city, another 62 in Salmon Valley and a further 32 in Summit Lake.

Power was expected to be restored to all areas by 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
