Prince George RCMP responded Monday to a stolen car that was driven into a Sadler Drive home.

At 12:30 p.m., the homeowner called police after witnessing the crash from inside the home. Once police arrived on the scene, they discovered that the vehicle, an Acura sedan, matched the license plate of a vehicle reported stolen earlier in the morning. The theft took place near the corner of Foothills Blvd and 15th Ave. The suspect, an adult male known to police, fled the scene but was later apprehended.

“There was significant damage to the residence,” Cpl Craig Douglass said.

Douglass urged the public to use anti-theft devices wherever possible in their vehicles. Local police, in partnership with ICBC will be giving away steering-wheel lock anti-theft devices at the Victoria Street Community Policing Office during the month of December. Twenty-two such devices have been given away as of last Friday, according to Douglass.
