Prince George RCMP suspect alcohol was a factor when a pickup truck was crashed into the side of Rolling Mix Arena early Thursday morning.
Police, who were called to the scene at 1 a.m., said the driver had fled the scene. But an intoxicated man was located a few blocks away on Dominion Street.
The 22-year-old Kamloops resident blew more than twice the legal limit when he was taken to the detachment, RCMP said. He was also taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
He was released on a promise to appear in court this fall.
His name was not released.
City spokesman Mike Kellett said the crash will not affect operations and an estimate of the cost of repairing the damage has not yet been determined.
